The Trunk-or-Treat event at the Rocky Mount Police and Fire departments was a huge success, thanks to all the individuals and businesses who set up tables and gave out candy to more than 2,000 children.
With heavy rain on Halloween night, the fire department opened the doors to the wash area to keep the children and their parents from getting soaked. Lines went around the building for hours, according to Community Resource Officer Tim Taylor.
