FRANKLIN COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY INC. CONNECTS ADOPTABLE PETS WITH LOVING HOMES DURING PETSMART CHARITIES NATIONAL ADOPTION WEEK
Local Adoptions at PetSmart Stores Take Place Nov 7-13
November 7, 2022 – Rocky Mount, VA — Each year, more than five million pets enter animal shelters in need of loving homes. Franklin County Humane Society Inc./ Planned Pethood Clinic & Adoption Center is proud to partner with PetSmart Charities® to bring adoptable pets to Roanoke Valley View PetSmart in support of National Adoption Week, taking place November 7-13.
During the in-store event, Franklin County Humane Society invites potential pet parents to meet adoptable pets in their area. Opportunities will be given to spend time with animals in need of loving homes in a spacious area. Staff and volunteers will help potential adopters learn about caring for a pet and the types of tools, products and services they may need.
Franklin County Humane Society President Donna Essig stated “We need to adopt animals in our care to keep taking in pets in need. Our cat adoptions have dropped 35% this year and we have 237 cats and kittens in our care. Requests to help others are coming in daily. Now is a great time if you have been considering adoption. You will be helping the pet you adopt and opening up space for another in need.”
