Henry County is preparing for an upcoming winter storm that is expected to bring snow and ice, increasing the potential for power outages across the community.

To assist residents during this weather event, volunteer fire departments throughout Henry County will be available as daytime warming locations on Sunday and Monday. Residents may stop by briefly to warm up or charge mobile devices. These locations are not intended for overnight accommodations. The Dyers Store Volunteer Fire Department will also be open during the daytime on Saturday.

In addition, the Henry County Department of Public Safety building will be open as a daytime warming location Monday through Friday next week.

County officials will continue to monitor conditions closely. Should the need for a 24 hour shelter arise, additional information will be provided to the public.
