Parkway Marina fireworks, traditionally the largest annual display of fireworks at Smith Mountain Lake, will take place on July 4.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with live music by the Tate Tuck Band starting at 6. Food, drinks and activities for kids. Proceeds benefit the Saunders Volunteer Fire Company.

This is a popular way to see Smith Mountain Lake fireworks on the water (near channel marker R8). Many locals and residents make it a tradition to come to the Smith Mountain Lake fireworks by boat each year.

Parkway Marina fireworks start shortly after dark. Also, it’s important to note that the viewing area is a no-wake zone. Please be patient, safe and courteous
